Our Milky Way and Other Galaxies is an information book all about the galaxy we live in and its neighbors. Isaac Asimov begins by introducing the reader to what the universe and its galaxies are. He goes on to talk about the Milky Way and sun, the life of stars, and how they eventually die, groups of stars, galaxies near ours, galaxy clusters, the shape of our galaxy and galaxies that share the same shape (a spiral), ellipticals, exploding galaxies and black holes, and colliding galaxies. He finishes up with facts about different constellations and numbers that relate to the size of our galaxy.
The pictures he chose to include were intriguing and very helpful in the reader's understanding of the different concepts and shapes discussed throughout the text.
